The Elwood Sourdough Spotties Buns have become a favourite amongst the Melbourne community who have acccess to Elwood Sourdough breads.

Now in addition to the Elwood Sourdough Slow Ferment Bread Making MasterClass we bring to you our new Spotties Class.

This hands on MasterClass is presented by Tracy Harvey – creator of the Spottie Bun and Emma Landeira, Baker at Elwood Sourdough and hosted by Elizabeth Peddey of Elizabeth Peddey School of Cookery and Gastronomy.

What You Will Learn

Anyone who loves to eat can learn how to cook well

In the class you will learn how to mix the ingredients to make a dough, how to prove and shape the dough and how to cook and glaze the buns

At the beginning of the class every participant is supplied with a dough mixture that is ready for shaping.  The Elwood Sourdough bakers will demonstrate their different shaping techniques and assist you in shaping your dough.  The buns are set aside to continue proving before we bake them in the ovens at Elizabeth Peddey School of Cookery and Gastronomy.  You are shown how to glaze your buns before we enjoy them for our morning tea.

You are also supplied with the ingredients necessary to mix your own dough.   The Elwood Sourdough bakers will demonstrate how to prepare the different fruits and mix the dough.  You will then go ahead with making your own mix to take home.  Once home you will shape and prove the buns the way you were taught in class and cook them in your own oven.

What You Need to Know

The class is co-presented by Tracy Harvey – creator of the Spotties Bun and Elwood Sourdough baker Emma Landeira and it is held entirely on the premises of the Elizabeth Peddey School of Cookery and Gastronomy at 15 Meredith St, Elwood.

The Spotties bun recipe has been modified for home cooks so that you can cook these delicious buns at home whenever you want.

Please arrive between 10 and 1015 for registration and to settle in

No special dietary requirements can be considered for this particular class.
