6 Week Mediterranean Cooking Course

Our Mediterranean cooking courses have been created to demystify home cooking for beginners and less confident cooks. We expose you to a wide variety of seasonal ingredients and gastronomic knowledge, that will empower you to become a confident cook and an informed consumer.
These every popular courses are practical, fun, social, un-intimidating and a wonderful opportunity to master the basics of home cooking. You will be left loaded with achievable ideas for colourful and healthy snacks, school and work lunches, weeknight dinners, and simple entertaining.
Each course runs over a six-week period. There is one class per week. You pick a time that suits your schedule. All classes run out of Elizabeth’s kitchen in Elwood, Melbourne.

Elizabeth's home kitchen at 15 Meredith Street, Elwood.
Classes are run weekly over six weeks.
Course 101 (absolute beginners)
Mondays - 6.30 to 9pm
Wednesdays - 10 to 12.30am
Saturdays - 11am to 1.30pm
COURSE 102 (a step above absolute beginner)
Tuesdays - 11am to 1.30pm
Wednesdays - 2.30 to 5pm
Thursdays - 6.30 to 9pm
It's simple, healthy and delicious.
The scientific evidence that the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle is linked to some important health benefits including an increased life expectancy, continues to accumulate. Even when taken up in middle age, it is evident that there is a reduced risk in heart disease, stroke, Type 2 diabetes, cognitive decline and memory problems, dementia and depression observed amongst those who enjoy a traditional Mediterranean diet and lifestyle.
The traditional food of the Mediterranean delivers meals rich in healthy fats, small bony fish, a small amount of meat, dairy and eggs, plenty of nuts, seeds, grains and legumes, herbs and spices, and lots of locally grown, seasonal fruit and vegetables. Not only do these ingredients taste wonderful, but they look appetising. The recipes are simple and uncomplicated and when you are buying mainly plant based, local, seasonal food, it is generally very inexpensive and leaves a comparatively small carbon foot print.
Each class includes:
· Light Refreshments
· A clean apron
· All ingredients and equipment
· Note paper and copy of recipes
· A sit down meal of the dishes prepared, with a glass of wine
· An exemption from the washing up
· A guided visit to a local farmer’s market
· Telephone or messaging support during the course
